There are five main ones including natural wool. It is beautiful, fluffy, and white. It does have natural oils that repel stains, so a light color shouldn't be much of a concern. The others are synthetics and, while all are good, the ultimate decision will come down to your needs and budget.
Nylon is super strong and a king of durability. It’s also resilient, bouncing back into shape quickly and easily. Nylon broadloom always has a stain protectant. Polyester is non-absorbent, with excellent inherent resistance to stains. Olefin is more economical and, like polyester, won’t absorb spills and stains. Triexta is fairly new but it, too, has excellent durability and permanent stain resistance is built right into the fiber.
